Schneider Electric & CCI France UAE Takeaways at COP28: Exclusive C-levels Panels No.2 on “Green Finance & Construction” (Dec 4th ).

ACCESs TO REPLAY

In partnership with Schneider Electric were thrilled to take part in the “How to Transition Towards Sustainable Construction” Exclusive C-levels Panel, Schneider Electric organized at its booth at COP28 Green Zone.

We were privileged to kick off this 2nd Conference Series Panel with:

- Nathalie KENNEDY, Consul General of France

- Franck LADEGAILLERIE, President of the Committee of French Foreign Trade Advisors

The panel shed light on the path to Sustainable Construction, encompassing a range of perspectives from the insurance industry to consultants, financiers, service, and solution providers. Key insights were shared by:

• David CHOLLET, Partner at ACCURACY, focusing on Financing Construction;

• Rohit CARLETON, Regional Director, Middle East, Head of P&C at DIOT SIACI, discussing Associated Risks in Insurance;

• Steve LEMOINE, CEO Middle East at Dalkia Group EDF;

• Muhammad FAISAL AZIZ, Senior Expert - Buildings, Middle East & Africa at Schneider Electric

🙌Our Key Takeaways :

1. Sustainability from Design Stage: sustainability must be embedded from the very outset of projects, right from the design phase, to enable the construction industry to slash CO2 emissions and move toward decarbonization.

2. Green Finance: A robust financing system now backs green projects, making sustainable construction a financially more attractive option with a solid return on investment in the long run.

3. Partnership & Global Commitments : Sustainable building is a collaborative masterpiece, bringing together a diverse array of key actors from design teams, green energy providers, and specialist in green construction methods, along with execution overseers. This synergistic effort between the private sector, supported by the public sector and the engagement of all involved stakeholders, is crucial for turning sustainable visions into realities.

The good news is that solution exists and they are within our grasp. Yes, WE CAN make a difference, and together, we surely will!

🎤The session was expertly moderated by Pierre PINIAU, General Manager at Techtronic Industries - MILWAUKEE, Middle East.

👥 Special thanks as always to Capucine Jeunet and the outstanding team at Schneider Electric for their impeccable organization of this insightful panel. Kudos to Julia Carre, from Accuracy and Heloise Husson, from DIOT SIACI, for their pivotal role in bringing this key topic to our agenda.
